OUTDOOR

Elysium

Elysium, outdoor wood flooring, commonly known as decking, is made with boards of different type of wood with thickness between 19 and 21mm, laid over wood joists, to be installed with clips or visible steel screws. As an option, Corà Parquet offers also the pre-assembled module in Teak for a do-ityourself laying.

TECHNICAL FEATURES OF THE TYPES OF WOOD

INDONESIAN TEAK

Colour from golden brown to dark tobacco. Its natural oleoresin makes it extremely durable and pest resistant. It is perfect to design a decking for
prestigious buildings. It is particularly valued for its dimensional stability, water resistance and beauty that make Teak an unique wood specie. Exposed to sunlight and weather conditions, Teak wood is subjected to a natural colour variation to grey.

IPE'

Colour from Havana brown to dark brown. It is one of the hardest wood specie in the world, the high density makes it suitable for any kind of use, both in residential or commercial outdoor spaces. The mechanical
characteristics confers to Ipe’ wood a fire resistance similar to concrete.
It is basically immune to fungi, parasites and weather conditions. Exposed to sunlight and weather conditions, Ipe’ wood is subjected to a natural colour variation to grey.

FSC® THERMO-TREATED ASH

Resulting colour from 180°C thermo-treating process. As a result of this specific treatment, that avoids chemicals, the dimensional stability and
durability (necessary features for outdoor use) performances are increased. It is suitable for small and mid-sized areas. Right after the laying, it is recommended to treat the surface with oil, as to nourish
the crystalized wood fibers and preserve the wood properties. Ash wood, even if it is thermo-treated, exposed to sunlight and weather conditions is subjected to a natural colour variation to grey

TEAK MODULE

Colour from golden brown to dark tobacco. Its natural oleoresin makes it extremely durable and pest resistant. It is perfect to create a decking both in residential or public areas, like terraces, gazebos, porches, catwalks and wherever it is necessary to remove the flooring easily. The pre-assembled module is open to a “do it yourself” laying thanks to the
“middle” and “start” modules. Exposed to sunlight and weather conditions, Teak wood is subjected to a natural colour variation to grey.

BANGKIRAI YELLOW BALAU

Colour from reddish brown to greyish brown. The Dutch Colonies in Indonesia discovered and used the Bangkirai since it adapts easily to the external environment. Bagkirai is suitable to create decking for mediumbig sized areas and construction of pavement surface of floating docks. Bangkirai wood exposed to sunlight and weather conditions is subjected to a natural colour variation to grey.

CUMARU FSC

The Cumaru is a South American wood species, similar to the Ipè. Its colour ranges from a yellow to a reddish-brown with dark veins. The wood feels slightly waxed to the touch and releases a fragrance of vanilla. Thanks to its resistance, the Cumaru belongs to class A reaction to fire classification , comparable to concrete or steel. Cumaru lumber is extremely stiff, strong, and hard, lending itself well to a variety of applications, excellent for outdoor flooring such as commercial use, facing facades, piers and shipbuilding. The Cumaru is also resistant to insect attacks. Over time, if placed outdoor, it will change colour to a
shade of grey. Constant maintenance using oils may slow down this process.

SUGGESTIONS

Before installation, it is advisable the keep the material securely strapped on pallets and possibly stored in a shaded area, protected from inclement weather. If you install the IPÈ boards on a poolside or next to light-colour stones, you should wash the wood befre laying it to avoid staining the delicate surfaces with its tannines. Make sure that you saw
the wood at a proper distance not to stain the surfaces with the sawdust.
